limewire starts connect but :
limewire starts connecting but never gets there and I've looked at my firewall, OP, router, ect. And I cannot find the reason, (I'm computer illiterate so not sure what I'm doing either). Also, my connect strength never goes past one bar. What else can I look at or is this just a lost cause? PLease help me!!! Thank you.

Start by making sure that you're only using 1 software firewall & that it's configured properly. There's a heap of info about connection problems in the sticky below
