Try this (don't kill me if it doesn't work):

Start > connect to > your ISP > properties > advanced > now untick the box to 'establish a dial up connection whenever a computer on my network attempts to access the internet' > ok.

See if that fixes it. Otherwise, someone else will have to step in:o

ok im back lol, of course nothing works for me for some reason, but anyways i just did a search of "firewall" on my computer and i found a lot of resutls and it wouldnt let me delete a few, it said somethiing about not being able to read the disk or something?

birdy January 13th, 2007 12:12 AM

Awwww man...I was hoping you'd fixed it:cryinghysterical:
Do you get any program names when you search for firewalls? Can you take a screenshot of your search results (might give a clue to someone)?
Did you get the dial up off?
Did you ever find out if Atlantic has a backup dial up service & if so, did you try that?

jimbo-ice January 13th, 2007 12:20 AM

umm i think i got rid of the dial up, i dont know how to take screen shots and im having my dad call atlantic broadband tommorow so , looks like i just struck out lol ill take a screen shot if u want, but you have to tell me how

jimbo-ice January 13th, 2007 12:22 AM

o ya the one firewall on the list was related to the adobe thing, i didnt know what that was but i removed it all from my computer, under type it said something like "block file sharing"

birdy January 13th, 2007 12:30 AM

Forget about the screenshot for now, wait & see what Atlantic say.
You've done a great job with all this & have been really patient, I hope that there's a way to get LW working for you:)

jimbo-ice January 13th, 2007 12:34 AM

hope so, I tested my buddys modem over here earlier and it had the same problem as mine

jimbo-ice January 13th, 2007 12:36 AM

the one firewall on this list is a peoplePC firewall, i open it and it has 11 options to click on, i might just delete it all

birdy January 13th, 2007 12:47 AM

PeoplePC's an ISP:confused:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PeoplePC

I guess you can delete all that stuff if you're not going to use them to connect.

jimbo-ice January 13th, 2007 12:51 AM
