Default Firewall is blocking Limewire. Help please?

I'm running Limewire PRO 4.12.6. I have my normal Windows Firewall on, and I have it set to allow Limewire, yet the firewall is still blocking it. Limewire was working just fine before I had to leave for work at about 5 PM today, my bars showing the connection status were light blue; but when I came back and got on at around 9, the firewall blocked it when I started up Limewire. What's going on and how I can I fix/prevent this?

Thanks,
Phil

How do you have the router set up (UPnP enabled if it supports UPnP, port forwarded or nothing)?
In LW go tools > options > advanced > firewall config & check if LW's listening port has changed...this can happen sometimes & can stuff up any port forwarding. If port forwarding is in place, log into the router & check all the config there.

Double check your XP firewall conifg.

I'm not sure if the 5100 supports UPnP, if it does & you haven't already tried, enable UPnP & then choose the UPnP option within that LW firewall config page. Apply to save a change.

Or you could try port forwarding if you haven't already, that should get rid of the firewall icon & hopefully help with your connection! Follow the directions here
http://www.portforward.com/english/r...0/Limewire.htm

Don't forget the step of setting up a static IP. LW's listening port & the port forwarded MUST be the same number.

The listening port is 41920 o.O. What should it be on? And I have it set to Use UPnP.

I don't see why my modem wouldn't support UPnP. This is the first time this has ever happened.

Some modems/routers have UPnP support & some don't. The manual should tell you.
If port forwarding & enabling UPnP have no effect, it's possible that it's an issue with your ISP. But try those things first.
