Now you see it, now you don't When I click on limewire immediatley after starting my computer then connect to broadband, I have no problem. Limewire does it's usual starting connection then good connection then turbo connection. But, If I try to connect after using other programs eg e-mail or internet, I get a dialogue from limewire saying "it appears your computer does not have an internet connection, or, a firewall is blockig access etc. There is no firewall obstruction, and the broadband connection is alive and kicking. The e-mail(outlook express) did not shut down after send and recieve. Clicking the limewire desktop ikon does not connect. But I know the link is intact because sometimes it does connect. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Hats |

Hi Hats. Try this first, n get back to us. It sounds like possably a corrupt java download, &/or L/W Prefs folder prob First! close L/W completly, then Go, START/My Computer/local disc C:/ Documents & settings/Your User Name/Application Data Now Delete the LimeWire Folder. If you cant find Application Data Folder,GO to Tools/folder Opions,& tick, show hidden folders, You can put the setting back afterwoods to protect your computer. note: You will have to reset your, Tools/options in L/W Later. Now! Go to, START/Set Program Access/Change or Remove Programs, now completely remove all versions of java. Now! Use this Link to get JRE 6 Use the off line installer NOT the (recormended) one, http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp Disconnect from internet, close ALL apps n reinstall java. Follow thease instructions exactly. Dont forget to reset your options in L/W, Licence warning n stuff. Your feedback will help others Any Problems Shout. Peace.
