was ok a week ago but no can not connect...tryed disabling firewall,,i have windows xp media,norton internet security,..anyideas??...5 red bars and a green number 3,,,in bottom left corner

1. Sometimes the XP firewall control panel is difficult to find depending on your set up. See about the 2 ways of finding it & disabling it here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...842#post178842 & oh also this link http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...620#post178620

2. After disabling XP's firewall, be sure you configure Norton firewall to allow LW full access. See Configuring Norton Internet Security

3. If still problems then see System details - help us to help you (click on link)

4. Also consider deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point # 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.)

thanks for speedy reply..but i have permit all under programs in norton,still unable to get connected....i have no other firewall.....windows xp,,,,bt broadband...have plenty of disk space..like i say it was ok 2 weeks ago....now...dont know whats occuring....`cheers`....

bt broadband which means you have a broadband modem/router. We need information about it. Please see my point #3 above.

i believe its the standard belkin,,,connected thru the phone line....cheers...
