I tried it and it worked 100%, you click on documents and setting then you will see multiple folders. Click on the folder that is entitled "OWNER", you will then see a few more folders this time. Here you should see a folder that is entitled ".limewire", click on that and it should direct you to the files you must delete in-order to gain the proper operation of Limewire. I don't remember which files i deleted exactly sorry.

Good Luck.

You might not have a preferences folder named .limewire...also look for a folder named LimeWire. Check out the thread below for info about how to find your prefs folder in Vista

OS X:
/Users/your_username/Library/Preferences/LimeWire

Windows:
C:/Documents And Settings/your_username/.limewire

Linux:
~/.limewire

Please shutdown any instance of LimeWire you may have running, delete the whole directory, and then restart LimeWire. You should be able to connect.

I'd love to hear how this works for everyone.

Thanks!

I'm using win xp pro and it worked great for me. I'm connected to a Benq switch, then my bellsouth westell dsl modem. I wasn't getting any connection until I did exactly what you suggested.
