Okay, I'm not the best computer-literate person, but I tried to find out what I could!

1. OS version? Windows XP
2. What firewalls you have? not sure, I think Window's Firewall although I do have AVG virus protection.
3. How much ram? not sure
4. Hard Disk space available? 213 GB
5. Connection type? LAN
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
7. Where are you trying to connect from? college
8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? LimeWire 4.10.3
9. Who is your ISP provider? umm, Internet Explorer
10. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If you mean sharing my music files with other computers, I have my preferances set NOT to share.
11. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?

* Did you configure your firewall so it allows LW full access (advisable not to have 2 active firewalls b/c they can interfere with each other. http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml

Unfortunately your college has probably started blocking P2P nets. Allot of them have started blocking recently you probably should check with your school an see if they have started blocking.

Grandpa-
Looks like everyone's keeping you busy with their questions!
I went to make sure that the UPnP settings were enabled for my router, which is a D Link DI-624. I found instructions at this link:
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;323713

But it was already enabled...

I am starting to think I am going to have to join the frustrated club with you. I can not figure out why your work lap top will work and the others will not have you checked the settings on the work laptop to see how it is set up.

Just an update. I was having a similar problem to those listed here. I adjusted my anti-hacker (from kasperski (great program!)) to allow limewire in the exceptions and now limewire works fine. Thanks for the assistance. Hope this may help someone else.

The new version of Lime Wire is complete ****, I had no problems with the older one but I was made to download the newest version.

I STILL CAN'T CONNECT. and I have NO Internet/Firewall problems.
