(a) hmm does not sound good. O.o Which model of Linksys router do you have if you can possibly find out? This might be very important.

(b) You are connected via satellite. Many if not most satellite services have restricted services. It looks like in this case they might be possibly blocking various (many) connection ports, thus only expecting you to be using your browser for the internet & not much more.

(c) try going to LW's menu bar, Tools > Options > Advanced > Firewalls & change both listening & connection ports to 6500 & set it to manual port forward. Then go to LW's menu bar, File -> Disconnect, wait a minute, then return to the menu & choose connect.

Hi.

WIN XP. I am deleting an entire limewire folder or a specific file, I don't see any files just two empty folders inside my limewire folder.

I have a WRT54G router. I will fix the ports I think. That area is hard for me but I will sure try.
Thanks
Joanne

Preference File in XP SP2

(you must show all hidden files)
[1] Open windows explorerselect Tools à Folder Options à View à Show hidden files and folders.
[2] In windows explorer look for the Limewire Folder – go here:-
c:\documents and settings\username\applications data\LimeWire (or) c:\documents and settings\username\limewire

Delete the limeWire/limewire folder (also called the preference folder)
((Ensure LW is closed before you delete the preference folder))

For further help:-
In Limewire Links (below) click on (If LW will not connect) and go through these fixes -- if still no good click on (system details) fill in and post back here
