I resolved the issue by going to start and then msconfig .Then I clicked on start up tab and enabled all the start up items and that fixed the issue and I am sure it will for you also .:welcomeani:

Follow these instructions exactly.
So, you need to Go, Start/All Programs/LimeWire n Uninstall all L/W versions.
Do Not Uninstall From Change or Remove Programs.
Re BOOT Your computer NOW.

Now Go to, Start/Search/click on all files n folders/more advanced options/
& make sure, case sensitive, is not ticked. (all other boxes should be ticked)
Now!!, Put limewire in box, (all or part of file name) & click search.
Delete everything found, including Prefetch folder, (I mean everything)
Re BOOT Your computer NOW.

Now! Go to,
START/Set Program Access/Change or Remove Programs,
now completely remove all versions of java.
Re BOOT Your computer NOW.

Now! Use this Link to get (jre-1.5.11) Use the off line installer, NOT the (recommended) one,
Java SE Downloads - Previous Release - JDK 5
When Download is completed.
Disconnect from internet, close ALL apps n reinstall java.

Now!! Use this link to download latest L/W version using the off line installer
LimeWire
If you need help, Shout, If it fixed your problem or not, Feedback helps others.

Hey Camshaft, that thread was an old thread. See below for the Latest Java Upgrade. :)

Try uninstalling all versions of Java from add/remove programs and then use Crap Cleaner to clean the registry.

Try updating to the latest version of Java here Java SE Downloads (First JRE 1.6.11)Useing the JRE Offline Installer.
Hope this is what your looking for. :)

We here in Carrigaline, Co.Cork Ireland are having the same problem. We have Windows Vista and this problem surfaces with a new windows update about six weeks ago. We are blue in the face from unistalling and reinstalling Limewire. Is this an industry wide fix to do away with us P2P users.
