I am not an expert but it seems a little odd that on here all these fixes were offered and no mention of ISPs until I said that I thought Limewire was at fault. Once they all fail lo and behold then it becomes and ISP prob!
It just sounds a bit like the old Dr joke that if they don't know what is wrong they say it is viral!

Susie | I agree Susie, the bottom line is you try what you feel comfortable with. Some of the solutions posted might be great for people who are more intermediate to advanced level of knowledge, but if your other programs are working (which mine did) then it becomes less likely (not impossible mind you) that it is your ISP.
Mine only worked after deleting my preferences folder. Now how on God's green earth one is supposed to know this is beyond me. This obviously is an issue with Limewire's software program dating back to 2002. If they don't make their program user friendly and you have to tweak settings on your computer, then why bother?
Good luck to you. Mine IS working now, but wouldn't be surprised if it conked out for other reasons.  |
