alright........i had dailup 2weeks ago and limewire worked fine........then after updating dailup to dsl. It stopped working it wont connect........shows a brick in front of the globe....all my firewalls are config. to let limewire through. i dont know wht else to do......im running windows firewall and norton. anyone know the problem????

7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? House

8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Limewire 4.12.11, java 1.6.0_01

9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? Windstream

10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? says page cannout be displayed

11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. NO. only lime wire i believe that is a p2p sharing.

12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an
experienced user. New problem. didnt start untill i installed DSL

13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? yes.

I think you have a NAT firewall in your router. Google Siemens SpeedStream 4200. You might have to port forword to get an open port. Hope this helps

I have a similar problem, after switching to a different service provider my limewire no longer will connect. My router is config and even after trying to do a manual port forward it still wont work... I have no idea how to fix the problem but wanted to let you know that you are arent the only person with the same problem.

I have the same problem here, i switched from dial up 2 months ago when limewire worked fine too, untill I installed DSL. Then it went to hell. Sorry I cant help but if I find anything out before you I'll post it in here.
