I don't think it's McAffee
 

I'm not so sure it's McAffee. I deleted McAffee and installed PC Tools Firewall. The problem persists, ie I get knocked off the internet when I run Limewire. I do not have this problem otherwise.

I have a new machine running VISTA. I have Limewire 4.12.11 and Java 1.6.0_01.

Suggestions?

McAfee is one of the reasons that limewire and vista won't work...
I have veiwed your other post and another member had similar problems with the PC Tools firewall...
Unfortunatley I don't think he ever got it sorted out as his ISP played a major part in his not connecting...

You will need to supply more infromation to see if there is anything else that may be blocking you...

I have also just bought vista and my limewire did the same thing i got rid of macfee and still the pronblem persisted. origninally i had vista basic but upgraded to vista premium and hey presto limewire works whey hey
