I bought limewire about 6 months ago,I can not remember the excact date,But i had been enjoying listening to the music no real problems maybe a little slow at times,But then a couple of weeks ago i found it immpossible to turn it on,on the windows screen i click on the icon and nothing happens,i am hoping somebody might be able to help as it is quite annoying that i have paid money for this and i cant use it!Has anone got any ideasI really hope so

p.s dont use to much computer language because i aint good with one!!

If you bought it less than 6 months ago, you should be able to download another Pro copy, in case you need to reinstall. Otherwise, you can download a free copy of Basic. Always backup your installers.

Have you tried clicking on the 'Limewire executable jar file' in your Limewire folder within program files?

Did you try the suggestions I gave? Have you always had Norton? What version of Norton? Have you tried to connect at different times of day? What model of modem do you have?

the model number is 250,eo8c007,i have always had norton 2007 pack and have used it before lw,i have tryd the things that you have suggested already and none seem to effect it in anyway,what is basic lw??

Basic Limewire is the free version of Limewire. Pro may be slightly better for some (people with a faster connection).

You said you tried the suggestions. Does that mean that you have uninstalled (use the uninstall feature for LW; don't use add/remove programs) Limewire and Java and reinstalled both? (Directions in link I gave you)

Have you deleted the Limewire preference folder?

Just read a post by UK Bob...he says that NTL is one ISP that doesn't block p2p traffic (as of June 2006...could have changed).

Any luck yet?
