Wow, it didn't seem like it was going to work at first, but now the globe has finally disappeard :D
Just need to put it through it's paces & see whether it affects it.
Should i ask my laptop to search through the same port as my computer which i have edited because it still has the globe?

Thanks for your help =D

chrisallen89...Yep that sounds like the go...;)

windbars....I'm not Mac savy but you shouldn't of purchased Pro if Basic wasn't working for you anymore...
I think your problem is with your school, I think Admin maybe blocking limewire...
Many Schools don't allow p2p...
I would ask admin or some of your other mates if they are starting to have connection problems...:)

oh dear, after all that, it is still sharing the speed out on my downloads :(
No matter how many i download, i am unable to get higher than 14 kbps...
I do have nortons running aswell if you think that could be conflicting with it?
Do you think there could be anything else that could making it do this?

Thankyou

This is the possible change from doing what you said and this is the affect on my laptop

Download Speed: 264 kbps (33 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 332 kbps (41.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

And it is now...

Download Speed: 909 kbps (113.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 347 kbps (43.4 KB/sec transfer rate)

It must have helped yet there must be something else which causing my problem

my download/upload speeds have changed. i get 1369kb/s for downloadin and 168 for uploadin. does that mean anythin? i went through all the port forwarding stuff but im still gettin no more than 20KB/s on limewire for downloads. i think it might be that bt is puttin a limit on the download speed unless there is other things we could do?
thanks for the earlier advice tho

Seeing you both have a similar set up and have gotten rid of the firewall, I'd say it's BT as they do throttle your speeds at peak times..You could give them a ring to find out what these times are...
Tiscali for instance throttle at 5pm to 11pm or 6pm to 12pm, many of their customers will not even get a connection during these times....

Did you download the magnetmix file from the link 6_Pac gave you ?? What speeds did you get with that ??

chrisallen89...With the latest speed test you have done your limewire speed should be around 114.5 KBs download and 41.4 KBs upload...

rykwando...Your limewire speeds should be 171.1KBs download and around 21KBs upload....

6_Pac does chrisallen89 have to change the port numbers for the laptop to a different set than the desk top to get rid of the wall ??

ps...I was bored this morning I'm sorry I hijacked your thread...:o

Hi WW,

I'm not sure because they're on two seperate machines. If they were on the same machine and were being run at the same time, then I'd say yes, but I don't know. She'll have to try it and find out.

ps: My nephew was kind enough to d/load a virus , so I'm still trying to get rid of it . Wish me luck :D lol...

pss: Hijack away.....:)

win32.trojandownloader.zlob.........It sounds bad but it really is interesting. I like trying to get rid of them. I have a few more scans to try out before I try more drastic measures ;) :D. It could take a while.......:).
