Default Sygate personal firewall

Hi all!

this is my first time in the forum. I have sygate personal firewall free edition and i cant connect limewire. Before i had norton internet security with no problem at all. I tried making and excepetion of the application and allow the connection on all ports, but nothing worked. Any ideas?

Make sure that the XP firewall is off.

Otherwise 6_pac might be more use...I think he uses Sygate. I'll ask him to look at your thread.

Sygates pretty easy to configure. You need to allow an exception for LW and for Java. Sometimes it's easier to clear all your exceptions and start over. Then run LW and when you get the popup from sygate asking you if you want to allow the program, check remember this answer and click yes. Do that for java also.

See if it works. If it doesn't, no harm done and you'll geta better understanding of what programs are running on your machine. If you want to try it, just double click the Sygate icon in your system tray and from the toolbar go to Tools>Applications, and click remove all......Good Luck .
