Question I need help with connecting!

Hello...first things first, did i post this in the right place?

anyway....i had Limewire(basic) for a while(about a year) , its great, fast and easy to use but then suddenly i lost connection, the bars at the bottom of the screen are empty! I'm stuck! I have tryed the support section of the website and it still won't work!

I have windows XP
Isp=tisculi
i have no firewalls(excluding the windows one)
2GB of ram
lots of hard drive space
i've got broadband
i'm using the computer at home on a home network so sharing the conection wih two laptops
I also have AVG Free Edition-Control Centre
O and I live in the UK

Can anyone help? (I think I have included most of the facts on that sticky page)

Sorry again if this is in the wrong place!

The most likely cause is your isp. Try the suggestions in this thread: I have found a solution to getting Limewire to work with Tiscali

Try deleting your LW preference folder while LW is completely shut down. See point #3 in this thread: Fixes for Limewire when LW isn't operating as it should!

What modem/router do you have? Most have an internal firewall that need configured.

Hey 6_pac...GO STEELERS!!!!!!!!! I'm having same issue as gyanmahatme. I've emailed Limewire help desk three times and gotten no response. How about I bring my computer with me and let you get it working while me and my family are at training camp!

Have fun at training camp*jealous*. I'm excited to see how the new coach will do and what changes he'll make. It should be very interesting .

Post Thxs for the help so far...

Ok...thanks for all ur help up to now...i don't know wot router i have, i will find out when the person who bought it (Dad) gets home. I have uninstalled limewire for the moment and will start trying again in a few days.

By the way, im not the only person this has happened to, a few of my friends have the same problem, had it working fione and then suddenly lost connection!

I'll reply soon will the results to your suggestions, thanks again!

ok restarting the attemps! to look at my router is a...

3com router, OfficeConnect ADSL Wireless 11g Firewall Router

I'm ok on computers, and so I think the problem is that my routers firewall is blocking Limewire, how would I solve this?

Does it have a model number on it? See if it's listed on this site under 3com. PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall
