![]() ive had limewire on my computer about a year or so ago and it worked perfectly fine (probably gave me a few virus's though).. but i just installed it again today and it wont connect. there arent even any connections listed under connections!! I dont get it, ive enabled it on my windows firewall (under control pannel), and on AT&T browser for the internet options, and i enabled it on my 2wire gateway firewall. I even completely turned off my firewall just to see if that would work. I read in another thread somebody said to try deleting all the versions of java, but if i do that i wont be able to download it again because my stupid computer is screwed up and wont even let me download ANYTHING off ANY websites, which is why im using limewire in the first place. 1. OS version? windows xp home edition 2. What firewalls you have? as far as i know just the one you can find under control pannel 3. How much ram? im not sure what that means 4. Hard Disk space available? 3.14gb on drive c, 25.4gb on drive d 5. Connection type? DSL 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? 2wire 7. Where are you trying to connect from my house 8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? LW- 4.12.15, Java-1.6.0.01 9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? SBC (now AT&T) 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? Your test worked 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? my parents computer also shares the main router thing 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. I had limewire about a year ago, and just installed it again today 13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? http://www.gnutellaforums.com/attach...1&d=1158099342 yes i do 14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? im not sure.. but i went to my router/modems page (2wire) and enabled gnutella on there 15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? i have AT&T online protection but there is no section i could find that blocks any certain things. only pop-ups and an antivirus. then i have AVG 7 16. What country are you living in? USA |
