![]() Nette505, Double check that your Windows firewall's still configured to allow LW. User Cant Connect - LimeWire Have you been able to connect since updating to Java 1.6.0_02? People have had trouble with that update. Try this version instead. Use the JRE offline installer & remove your current Java version before you install this one. Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11 If that doesn't help, delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location). Fixes for LimeWire This will kill all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things. If you're not sure of your settings, go through LW's tools > options & write them all down, so that you can reset things later. Your modem doesn't have an internal firewall. Are you using a router as well? If you are, please tell us the brand & model ![]() cain-marko,Start off by changing Java versions & also delete LW's preferences folder...just see the instructions I've posted for Nette505. You could also double check that your Norton firewall's allowing LW...even reconfigure the firewall. These 2 links should help with that. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/226610-post6.html PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall If you still can't connect try port forwarding for your router, that should get rid of the firewall icon & (hopefully) help with your connection. The instructions are here. Port Forwarding for the Netgear RP614 Version 3 Don't forget the step of setting up a static IP address first. Don't panic when you see those instructions...they're a spin-out at first but all you have to do is follow them step by step & you'll be fine. Just remember that LW's listening port, port in the 'manual port forward' box in LW & the port forwarded within your router all have to be the same number. Otherwise, things won't work ![]() |
