Ok!! save your 4.8.1 installer to desktop so you can try with it at a later date

Sounds like things have become jumbled.


Follow these instructions exactly.
So, you need to Go, Start/All Programs/LimeWire n Uninstall all L/W versions.
Do Not Uninstall From Change or Remove Programs.
Re BOOT Your computer NOW
Now Go to, Start/Search/click on all files n folders/more advanced options/
& make sure, case sensitive, is not ticked. (all other boxes should be ticked)

Now!!, Put "limewire" in box, (all or part of file name) & click search.
Delete everything found, including Prefetch folder, (I mean everything)EXEPT 4.8.1 installer
If you have used older versions of limewire.
Then repete search putting ".limewire", the dot is important
When all L/W files are deleted.
Re BOOT Your computer NOW.
Now! Go to,
START/Set Program Access/Change or Remove Programs,
now completely remove all versions of java.
Re BOOT Your computer NOW.

Now! Use this Blue Link to get "Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 12" Use the off line installer, NOT the (recommended) one, 4th one down.
Java SE Downloads - Previous Release - JDK 5
When Download is completed.
Disconnect from internet, close ALL apps n reinstall java.

Now!! Use this link to download latest L/W version using the off line installer

Ok done all the above and to the letter but still no joy...It still just got 1 bar out of 5 and will not connect

Is that it? Are my days finally up on the limewire downloading lol

The problem has not gone and no cure so the point of coming here was? I cant see one...Nobody replies to you

Did you delete the preference folder like 6_Pac advised ??

Excuse me? I am not getting shirty but if you read my thread correctly after 6 pac wrote his you would see....I have tried all that is asked and got this message and it is a large message? So to ask me have I done it was to me, a useless question. I was hoping it would be someone to help me from the notification and not a question that clearly was answered in my thread?
