Some days it's green,some days it's red

Why is that?I also poasted something a while backl about it having to do with a firewall. Here is the information i think birdy told me about:

1. OS version? Windows xp
2. What firewalls you have?I think from Norton
3. How much ram?448 MB
4. Hard Disk space available? I honestly don't know
5. Connection type? cable
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? I don't know how to find that out
7. Where are you trying to connect from? house
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? LW:4.12.6 Java:1.5.0_03
9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)?Adelphia/Time Warner
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?nothing...it just says "Your test worked"
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? I think I am...is that like downlaoding from other people and such?
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user? It's my first problem that i've had, and it's been over a year.
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface?yes....almost everytime I open it up.I play around with my security settings and once in a while this thing will become green.

I've done all of that.Nothing helps. It stays on red with one little green bar.

There must be a box where you plug in the phone jack. Try to find the name of that box and any possible sticker telling us what brand that piece is (cause that's the router)...

I did.I don't know how to find out the other things.Sheesh...aren't you guys supposed to help us find out the other things?

foolofthehill August 18th, 2007 10:11 PM

Well,.....being a volunteer helper here, I guess, I am supposed to die one day....but everything else......

Without knowing your modem/router brand and without getting more input in regard to "I have done everything" (what did you do, in detail, and what happened when you did it), it's virtually impossible for anyone to give you more advice than what I have provided you with the link above..

Cheers
