![]() I have been using limewire for a few months now and have downloaded numerous time, and all of a sudden last week i cant get a connection. I only get one bar out of the five and i dont know why since i just used it like last week and it worked totally fine. here is my system info: 1.OS: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition 2.Firewall: i have windows firewall and mcafee (but its has been expired for like a year so i dont know if that even matters) 3. RAM: 512MB detected and 64MB requirement(whatever that means) 4. Hard Disk Space: Local Disk (D): 91%, Local Disk (C): 49% 5. connection type:i'm at school and i get through a LAN 6. Modem: 56Kbps 7. Dorm room (i have used it here many times with no prob, and at home still with no prob) 8. LW:4.14.8 (i just downloaded this version today cuz i thought the reason i was getting a connection was maybe cuz my version was old, but this one doesnt get a connection either.) Java: 1.5.0_06 9.ISP: Internet Explorer 10. it said "error the requested url could not be retrieved" 11. No 12. umm, well i have been using LW for about four or five months, so im not new at it. 13. yes, (i know that means it is firewalled, but i dont understand why it was just firewalled suddenly cuz it worked fine a few days ago. i have it as an exception in my firewall settings, do i need to use a specific port or something?) 14. modem: yes my UPnP is enabled 15. i did a trial with Mcafee and when it ran out i never renewed it and that was almost a year ago. 16. USA well, thats all my info. thanks so much in advance for your help and i hope we can get this resolved soon. thanks! |
