I have the dell 8400
mucho ram and disk space. windows xp isp cox-premium package Lime wire 4.14.10 Norton was unistalled due to connectivity interference Hello everyone, this is my first day. I have problems running limewire. I've been having norton issues for 2 months so that was deleted. My firewall is turned off (Windows XP) I've uninstalled and reinstalled Java & Limewire in that order. And I've come across the firewall screen suggesting that it needs to be unblocked, then I press the space bar, but only to pass several screens and then it does not finish. There is no finish button on screen. Then it keeps looping to Language screen. Any help much appreciated |

You both can try this and see how you go...
Try uninstalling all versions of Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE 5.11 offline version.... Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11 Then uninstall Limewire using the uninstaller which is found in start > all programs > limewire...then re-install it using the offline installer...To find the offline installer, use the link below > cancel the installer window when it pop's up and then select the offline installer link... Lime Wire » Download LimeWire

What that java app did for me was widen the gui page So I could see all the options for finishing the install setup. (I think I described it right correct me if im wrong id like to know.)
After The screen that says Check firewall settings, I pressed the space bar and contiued to the point where is says enable filtering, I dont think it wouldve mattered if I check it or not, but clicking the space bar I noticed the next screen sayed finish installation setup and thats where I noticed more of the bottom screen was visible. I clicked on finish and it finished the installation and lime wire was up and running. Thanks for your help. |
