HElp!! Limewire hasnt been connected in weeks!!!

I DONT KNOW WHATS HAPPENED...BUT I ONLY HAVE ONE BAR ON LIMEWIRE!!!! I'VE BEEN STRESSING OUT TRYING TO FIX THIS ALL DAY! PLEASE ANYONE I BEG YOU, HELP ME!!!!!!!!

3. How much ram?
4. Hard Disk space available? Yes
5. Connection type? DIAL UP
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Aol
7. Where are you trying to connect from? APARTMENT
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have?

JAVA- 1.5.0_O5
9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? AOL
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. YES IT SAYS "THIS TEST WORKED.
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? NOPE.
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user.
NEW PROBLEM WITH A EXPERIENCED USER
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? YUP.

14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled?
15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Some people might not be aware that their security suite includes a firewall
IM NOT SURE WHAT ANTIVIRUS I HAVE...
16. What country are you living in? Sometimes there are ISPs with the same name in more than one country (eg Clearwire in the USA & also in Ireland).

AOL is known for problems when it comes to p2p apps...

I've tried EVERYTHING! Ever since limewire came up with the security lock thing, i havent been able to connect! I BEG YOU, PLEASE HELP!!

That wouldn't be the problem as that padlock notice you see at the top of your searches is to notify you of a particular search result that contains a virus...
It's a 75.7 KB .exe & shows up as "Urgent LW update - download & install now". If people download that thing they could end up infected. To try to prevent careless people from downloading a dangerous file, the warning banner was added to LW's interface.

The padlock symbol doesn't apply to music or video etc, only to LW updates...

So there is something else that is blocking your connection...

thatgirl101...I don't think Remoc is suggesting you change your ISP, but if you go through the links he gave you will find that AOL security can be the cause of your problems, therefore uninstalling that may help...

There are plenty of very good free Spyware apps ...

Ad-Aware __(FREE)

Spybot - Search & Destroy __(FREE)

AVG Antispyware (formerly Ewido)

You can also give this a shot as well...
Try uninstalling all versions of Java from the add/remove programs and then re-install the JRE 5.11 offline version....

If that does not help with your problem try deleting your preference folder/s...This will reset your configurations back to default and get rid of any corruption that may of happened...
