Default LW pro hangs (sort of)

this is odd - I can put in new searches - but get no results. when select file/disconnect the software hanges
I need to go to task manager an kill the process.
then (usually) when I restart the application - it works

did not have this problem until I upgraded to the curent version

any ideas?

system: PIII 256mb ram, tons of disk space - win2000 pro sp4
trend micro anti virus/firewall

thanks

mickjapa108 has a spectacular aura about
Default

256mb ram is not much, try to cut down on the current UP's & Downs
In Tools\Options\Uploads\slots Cut slots to 5 or 6 & Per Person to 3,
then keep your searches to no more than 3 at one time.
try it and get back to us.
Peace.

P.S. Have updated your java ? What version are you using ?

Default thanks

Java Version 1.5.0 (build 1.5.0_06-b05)

its not a problem with the amount of ram - when LW workes - it works well -
it seems to be an either/or situation - the Limewire process seems to hang

Try these things:
1. Make a note of all your settings, then ry deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.)

2. Go to Tools > Options > Advanced > Performance & disable all options on that page. Press apply button.

3. Do as mickjapa108 suggested. Also, after opening LW, let it settle for a few mins before using. And don't use the resume/find sources function on all your files. If you use it, use it on only 1-3 files at a time.

4. If still problems, Tip: Purge the Downloads Queue! (click on blue link)
