Talking IT guys in office have blocked Limewire

Hey All this is my first post here so please do let me know when and if i don't give you enough technical information... I'm just an average joe who uses the web and not an expert on IT matters... I use limewire on my office network since the web link is faster here than the one at home... I'm on Mac OSX 10.4.1 and the office network is on windows platform. They do have a firewall but all these days i didn't have a problem connecting to the web via limewire... Now it's just says "starting connection" but it never connects... When i launch limewire it says that "you're machine doesn't appear to be having an internet connection" I use firefox as my browser and until recently it was connecting to the web via "auto detect proxy settings" but now i have to enter a proxy... I'm assuming that through the proxy server the IT guys have blocked limewire... Is there anyway to bypass the IT guys trick to block limewire or do i just give up and settle for the slower speeds at home... thanks in advance for an input
