![]() Hi, i have used limewire for years and i recently got a new computer and my initial limewire setup on this new computer worked fine until i began messing with the option settings(upload/download stuff), which I doubt caused my no connection problem. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. the latter 13. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? upnp is disabled 15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? nod32 antivirus 16. What country are you living in? USA This computer was built by a friend and I am not sure what programs and stuff he put in here, is there a way to search for firewalls? there are not obvious ones(norton, mcfee, etc), but maybe there is an "unknown" firewall somewhere? I am looking for any other suggestion as to what to look for and do. i appreciate any help, thanks! |

![]() BigMarty, Try this Port Forwarding for the Dlink DI-604. I would also suggest upgrading your AV. See Link Below. It's Free and one of the Best. http://www.avast.com/ Eddie, Try this. Port Forwarding for the Linksys WRT54G |

![]() Thanks for the suggestions. I had tried the port forwarding link instructions before without success. Then I bypassed the router completely and still got the firewall. I uninstalled Norton anti-virus and tried to connect to Limewire with no anti-virus program at all - still got the firewall. I have sent an email to my ISP asking if they block Limewire but have not yet had a response. I have downloaded the Avast anti virus software and will try that for a while. Thanks for the heads up on that, I am always fond of free stuff. Any further ideas on how to remove the firewall would be great. |
