Try this first: Delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location).
Fixes for LimeWire
This will change all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things. If you're not sure of your settings, go through LW's tools > options & write them all down, so that you can reset things later.
In case you're using Vista: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/genera...der-vista.html

Some people have had connection problems with some Java versions. You can either try updating to the latest version here (I have this one & LW's working fine): Java SE Downloads
or try this older version, which has worked well for lots of people: Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11
Whichever Java version you use, download the JRE offline installer & remove any other Java versions before installing another one.

If that doesn't help, please give us your details.

Click on the blue 'Fixes for LimeWire' link & you'll see info about finding the folder. Or, if you're using Vista, click on the 'Prefs folder in Vista' link.

Remember that the folder's hidden by default, so you'll have to show hidden files & folders to see it. That info's in the links as well.

Has LW just suddenly stopped connecting (you said you had issues with LW so I need to know whether you've had on & off connection issues or if this connection problem is a new issue)?? Was it working a couple of days ago?

Did you delete the preferences folder? If you did that properly, all of your setings within LW's options would've changed...did those settings change?
