Default Brick Wall

How do I get that brick wall in front of globe to go away, and get more than one small red bar? I know nothing about this PC. Its a Dell Windows XP.

Default My LW doesn't work

I have a brick wall in front of the globe, and only have one small bar. I have a desktop dell 400 exp bought 2 years ago, I have a 3 meg Charter cable hook up. I don't know specs. My LW use to work, I want to get rid of the brick wall so I can continue to use LW.

What firewalls do you have? What's the make and model of your router?

See whether changing ports helps. In LW tools > options > advanced > firewall config. Change LW's listening port to 64049 (or something in the range of 49152 - 65535) > apply > ok.

Try the fixes listed here: Fixes for Limewire when LW isn't operating as it should!

Default It is broke

I've been using LW successfully for two years. Why is there a brick wall in front of the globe now? I don't know. I need this to be fixed. I don't know and don't understand computer jargon (routers, ram, etc.). I download and listen to rock, thats it. I have LW 4.12.6 If there is a newer LW, can I install that without losing my list of songs? I have a Dell 400 XPS, Windows XP, bought 2 years ago. You guys should know this PC. Why was I able to use LW for so long, and not now? Thank you.

There is a newer version, and you can d/load and install it and your files will still be there. Don't know that it'll fix your connection problem, but it won't hurt. Get it here: Lime Wire » Download LimeWire

Your gonna have to do some work on your own. The details I asked you to post are important. Your connection problem could be due to a number of different things, so answering those questions will be really helpful.

Did you try any of the fixes in this thread: Fixes for Limewire.

We don't have esp and I can't reach through my computer screen and into yours.

I also have Spy Heal 3.5 and Advanced Registry Optimizer, and Trend Micro PC-cillin. I chose Trend Micro when I purchased the Dell 400. The other two I bought from ads on my desktop. Do these have anything to do with LW?

Try disabling them one at a time and see if LW will connect.
