Default Fire wall protection

Hello everyone i thank you for youre time . I have windows xp serv pac 2 with comcast macafee security . My problem is lime wire keeps telling me i am behind the fire wall. My windows fire wall is disabled and i tried it with out macafee fire wall also still nothing . Any thoughts!

How are you connected to the Internet?

Basically, if you are using a modem/router you should know that they all come pre-manufactured with a built-in firewall.

Hey hoss, i have the same operating system and the same problem.......i had limewire working fine until i had to restore my system due to bad hard drive. since then i can't get limewire to connect.

Hope someone can help with a solution.

i have the same issue...so if you have a firewall up, how to you remove it? and what about the ones that may be up in your modem, router, etc?
