Connection problem with norton off

I bought limewire pro after i rebooted my computer....i already owned it. but since i rebooted it wont work. i had norton before and after, but when norton is off it still doesnt work and it detects a firewall problem, I did the test thing for bug report came back with false which means a firewall problem.i have my windows firewall turned off and i do not have a wireless router just a webstar modem from brighthouse network old time warner i have no idea and im going nuts, the only other thing i could think is my sysem mechanic but i dont use the protection from it just the maintence. if you can figure this out your a genious or i am just lame.

And i have also allowed limewire to the permit list on norton and its still blocked or firewalled with the little brick house in front of the globe.........is there any other program i need to permit.....i have read many posts on this trying this and that and im frustrated

maybe spme kind of port problem i dont know what it means but what other options are there
