Can't Connect With LimeWire Hello everyone! I have recently tried downloading LimeWire and have never been able to connect. I'll list my specs and issue.
HP Pavilion DV9000
Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit
Firewalls -
Windows Firewall (Disabled)
Zone Alarm
I've tried downloading LimeWire twice and each time I'm never able to connect. I open limewire, and after hovering my mouse over the connection bars, it will stay on "You are currently connecting to the network", but it never connects. Also, next to the connection bars, it has a globe with a brick wall infront of it and hovering the mouse over it, it says "limewire has detected a firewall". Upon installation, when ZoneAlarm popped up saying LimeWire is trying to access the internet, and another says it's trying to act as a server, I selected allow, and checked the box that says "remember this setting". I opened ZoneAlarm and LimeWire has all green checks for allowed. I also went to my logs and added the IP Address to trusted zone. I also opened internet options and added limewire.com to trusted sites, and went to the advanced tab and selected the boxes that allow program to run cd's, and the 3 other boxes as well.
I tried shutting down zonealarm and still, same issue. I've tried restarting computer, and programs a billion and 343 times! LimeWire's website says something about going into options - firewall - and then taking note of port and adding it in my security program, but I can't find anywhere in ZoneAlarm for ports - just IP Addresses.
Anyone has had a similar issue or know the fix for it? Thank you so much! |
