This worked for my Windows XP connection trouble

Thanks for trying to help you 've got good intentions but my dear friend .... I followed your path to the dot and the LW PReferences folder is no where to be found....

Besides following the path that you pointed out... which takes me to the good 'ol "My Documents" I tried searching for any file that may contain "LW" and also any file that may contain "Preferences" none of the search results showed LW Preferences.

If someone knows how to seek, destroy and evaporate this file from the computer... it be great!

My dear friend,
If you can not find the LimeWire folder in your "documents and settings" under your user name. They I can only assume you never had one. There for you need to uninstall your LW and reinstall it to see if you get the "tip of the day box" popup when it restarts.

If you do then follow the last of my instructions:
Then Start up LW.

A "tip of the day" pop up box will appear.

Disable/unmark the box in the corner.

Then head up to TOOLS / Advanced/ System Start up/ disable or unmark the box in the corner.

Then restart LW.

* This has worked for me and a couple other people. I am no PC expert. If this still isn't working for ya then read through the threads, as I did, to find a solution. Good luck once again.
