Unhappy joining the connection issues club

I've had issues connecting (only one bar, not enough to search) for the last several days. I've followed all the directions in the stickies at the top of this board, my java is recently updated, I've uninstalled and re-installed. I've even gone as far as to uninstall SP2 (no flaming please), and had no luck with any of this tips.

Details:
1. OS version? WindowsXP
2. What firewalls you have? whatever windows provides
3. How much ram? Please excuse me as I don't quite understand all this type of stuff. From the label on the front of the computer: 256 MB DDR SDRAM memory, 60 GB Ultra DMA hardrive
4. Hard Disk space available? 14.9 GB and 11.6 GB
5. Connection type? cable
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Belkin Wireless G
7. Where are you trying to connect from? home
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? LW: 4.12.16 Java: 1.6.0_03
9. Who is your ISP? Atlantic Broadband
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? Test worked.
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. Wireless router, my husband connects in the evenings
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. I've had LW for a long time (2 years?) this is a new issue.
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yep
14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? I've tried both, default is port forwarding
15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? AVG free
16. What country are you living in? USA

I hope I've answered these questions correctly. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Have you gone through the fixes here (including rolling back Java, deleting preferences folder & replacing gnutella.net file)? There's a newer Java update 1.6.0_04 now, I'm using it & LW runs normally...you could try that one from the update Java link in the thread below. Remember to only have 1 Java version installed at a time.
If LW Will Not Connect

If you're sure that you've done all of those things correctly (with LW properly closed & restart afterwards), try the fixes below. The post's really old but a couple of people have recently found that it's fixed their problem.

What's the model number of your Belkin? When you set up port forwarding, did you use instructions from this site
PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall
& did you make sure to set up a static IP address first? You also need to make sure that LW's listening port, port in the 'manual port forward' box & port forwarded within your router's config pages are the same number

after spending much of the day dealing with this, it's working. I think (I can't be sure because I did so much and just all of a sudden it was working again) that the tip here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/78282-post22.html did the trick. Who knew it was something so simple!
Thanks so much for the help!
