Real connection fix

I tried the frostwire and am still having the same trouble I was with limewire, it says it's connecting but never does. It stays on the first bar. I used to have cable modem and connected find. Then I switched to verizon dsl with wireless modem. Since the switch I can't connect to limewire. I was so excited when I saw the post about frost wire thinking it would fix my problem, but nope. I've done everything limewire listed. I went into the windows firewall and checked to make sure the site was allowed and opened a port just in case. Nothing has helped and all I can figure is that it's related somehow to the new dsl modem, but I don't know how to fix that.
