![]() Are you getting the message that LW was unable to load your old downloads? Go to LW's library > Incomplete Files. Highlight a file & then click 'Resume'. The file should move into the download pane & will sit at 0% until it finds sources...once sources are found, the file should continue downloading from where it left off. |

![]() no, i didn't get that message, (altho it did say one file was not usuable or something like that) but it did then load the rest when i did what you said. so, all my obvious issues appear fixed. thanks again. one last question though, these files have been in my incompletes for a long time. any chance that they will ever complete, or are they just pretending to have actual potential to do so? |

![]() Start a whole new search for the files that are sitting in the download pane...sometimes a new search can kickstart a download. You can also right click on a search result > search more > get more results. Or right click on the file in the download pane > search > search for keywords. If the files have been there for ages & just won't do anything, it might be quicker & less painful in the long run to just download another version of the file (if you can find it). It's up to you what you deem a waste of time...kind of depends on file size, how much of the file is downloaded, how hard the file was to find etc. Because the network's constantly changing as users log on & off, it's really hard to guess when or if a source might show up ![]() |

![]() ah, i knew about that but had forgotten. the technique is working for some of them though, and it leads me to believe that in some cases, the incompletes would have indeed sat forever. i see that 4.16.4 is out, but the beta is serving me well. no brick wall still. so i'm not sure what i will do to upgrade, but i will hold a copy of this version of the beta install file jic a future release screws me. thx again, -mdw btw, my java says its the newest java when i click update from inside the control panel applet for it, but it also says its 1.6.0_03 which i assume is update three. but their webiste says update 4 is out... whats the story? |

![]() If you're really concerned about updating, you could try versions (stable release & Beta) as they come along...as long as you've saved the installer, just revert back to the version you're using now if newer ones still stuff up. 1.6.0_04's been out for a while (not sure exactly how long but I've had it for a couple of weeks) & I don't know why your Java's being recognised as the latest update ![]() |
