Default Cannot Connect - Using Advanquest

Hello! I've tried all the tech suggestions here that pertain to me and I'm still not getting connected onto Limewire.

Here's my info:
1. OS version? Vista - Admin account
2. What firewalls you have? Windows and NetDefense
3. How much ram? 2046MB
4. Hard Disk space available? 73% free
5. Connection type? DSL
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Netgear Wireless
7. Where are you trying to connect from: house
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? LW 4.16.6 and Java 6
9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? NDtel
10. Do this simple test for us. What happens when you go there?: 'Your test worked!'
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? no
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user: Had LW on my XP system that had Norton - first time using it with my new Vista that has Advanquest Systemsuite 8 antivirus with NetDefense firewall
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? yes
14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? (sorry - computer stupid about this question)
15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Advanquest Systemsuite 8 antivirus with NetDefense firewall
16. What country are you living in? USA

So frustrating - I checked my netdefense and it has LW on it's allowed list - also double checked windows firewall to make sure as well. Don't know what else to check or to tweak. Suggestions are most welcome!

Edited to add: My sister is on LW right now sitting right next to me dl'ing files. She has XP with mcafee antivirus.

Don't use two firewalls. They WILL conflict! (& give less security not more.) Decide which one to use, then disable the other one.

Also, make sure your LW is not using same connection and listening ports as your sister's LW.
You can find that under Tools > Options > Advanced > Firewalls

I disabled the Windows Firewall and changed the LP to a number in the 30000 range. I still cannot connect. I have Netgear Wireless WNR834B router. I checked my parents desktop that has XP and they are able to connect also. I'm feeling a little left out. LOL

Just momentarily, try disabling your netdefence firewall also and try connecting. If still no good, my guess is router is problem.

Port forward router: First and most important step is setting up a static ip: 1. Static ip instructions
2. PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall and find your model and click that link, then find limewire on list.
3. Settings within LW, will be described in the above link.
