Can't connect...tried all advice posted...

1. OS version? XP
2. What firewalls you have? I have one, I don't know details...
3. How much ram? 504
4. Hard Disk space available? 49.8 GB
5. Connection type? DSL
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Verizon, D Link
7. Where are you trying to connect from? Home
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have?14.4.12,1.6.0_05
9. Who is your ISP? Verizon
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? It says "Your test worked"
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? Yes, home network with laptop, Limewire works on the laptop for my wife...
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. Used LW for years
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? _Yes
14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? No idea....
15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Aviria
16. What country are you living in? USA

My bars are all red. I have tried all the steps in the STICKY (posted in the connection problems folder) to remediate. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled Limewire. It used to work, now all of a sudden, NOTHING. It keeps saying "Currently connecting to the network" and my search will not yield any results until I am "fully" connected.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Mike

I have the same problem

i have the same problem. How do we fix this?

1. Make sure your LW is using a different connection port to the one your wife uses. It's found under tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Firewalls.

2. D Link devices are not the most reliable using UPnP. You might be better using port forwarding.

still not working, can someone help

dinkdankdo April 7th, 2008 06:15 PM

Hi there, I have been having the same problem as u guys and I have managed to solve it by going into tools> options> searching> then put a tick in the box that says "show license warning". Then click apply > ok. Straight away the bars all turned green.
The first time you download the warning will pop up, just click the relevant boxes and it will go back to as it was before but it will connect this time :yahoo: well it does on my limewire!

Hope it works for you guys, it cant do any harm.

did not work for me, i am at a standstill

Strange how only one person posted their system details here. For connection problems, we can't help too much without them.
