![]() I have been using Limewire Pro for a few years with no problems. On March 31, 2008 I purchased the "updated" version & am now unable to connect. I have read all of the various posts on this topic & note that many are having this same problem. I have been trying various fixes suggested in this forum without success. I have emailed Limewire Pro support & after an initial request for more information to which I responded, I have not received a reply. When I try to connect, I see "Starting Connection" with all but the small, far left bar in red. There is a "brick wall" over the blue globe next to the Starting connection which says that a firewall is detected. I have my Norton personal firewall set to allow all LW activity. I have uninstalled LW through the LW uninstall & redownloaded as well as uninstalling through windows & then reinstalling. Results remain the same. I even asked LW Pro support if I could have back the old LW version which worked so well for me & they could keep my money! My info is below. 1. OS version - Windows XP Professional 2. Firewalls - Norton which is set to allow LW activity - Windows firewall is disabled 3. RAM - 512 MB 4. Hard Disk Space Available - 39.0 GB 5. Connection type - Broadband 6. Modem & Router - not sure on what this is I find "WAN Miniport (PPPOE) listed & the "box" I connect to the internet is Sprint Products Group Model with the following in fo on the label SP-645ME-A1, Modem ADSL 645ME-A1 Sprint 7. Where connecting from - home 8. LW version - 4.16.7 PRO Java version - 1.6.0_03 9. ISP - Embarq (used to be SPrint) 10. Simple test - I got "Your test worked" 11. Sharing the connection - No 12. 1st try using LW - no I am an experienced LW user & this is a new problem 13. Brick wall in front of blue world icon - Yes the wall is there 14. Modem/router - I don't know how to find the answer to this question or if I am using a modem/router 15. Security programs - I'm using Norton & the windows security program is disabled 16. What country - USA Thanks so much in advance & I'm so hoping someone can help! |

![]() After my first post, I looked at another recent post with the same problem & saw that deleting preference folders worked for him. Since I've been trying everything else under the sun decided to go into my documents & settings & deleted everything that said limewire. Can now connect! Brick wall still shows - should I worry about this? THANKS to everyone who has helped all of us! |
