Question Where Are My Search Results?

As a Limewire Pro subscriber, I recently updated to the newest version of Limewire but have yet to upgrade as a Pro user due to some technical issues I am having with the new software. The problem I'd like to address is the fact that I am not receiving any of my search results....not a single one!

I have never had any problems like this in the past, so I assume that there must be a technical issue with the newer version. For your convenience, I have included the set of questions that could possibly help you in pinpointing the problems I am having with the software.

I'm not a very happy camper here. I'd love to upgrade to the Pro but refuse to do so as long as this problem is a major issue. If I am unable to view the results during my searches, then I hardly see the point in upgrading until this is first corrected. In any event, thank you for your time and support, which is always greatly appreciated.

1. I have Windows Professional

2. I have Windows Firewall

3. 224 MB of RAM

4. I'm not sure how to check for Disk Space because it has been split eveny down the middle. Between both my C drive and E drive, the combined total is 80, but this has never affect the performance of my LW software.

5. I normally have high-speed, broadband connection (ethernet)which has never been a problem, however I am using the high speed service at our hotel suite, which has never been a problem until the recent update.

6. I have no idea what the modem number is. I don't have an external unit.

7. I am trying to connect from our hotel suite while working on the road, which has never been a problem before until I installed the newer version for Limewire. I have used the conncection here at this particular hotel in the past while using LW and had no problems whatsoever. The trouble began immediately after the new version was installed.

8. Thinking that perhaps the BETA might work better, I downloaded the test program instead. Neither one has made any difference and I am still unable to see my search results. I'm not too sure how to check for the version of Java, so maybe someone can help me.

(NOTE: I did try the newest software version prior to trying the BETA and the search results did not appear within the results field either. Therefore it didn't seem to make a real difference which new version is installed. The search results do not show up and the window pane is completely blank).

9. My actual ISP is AOL, however I am currently at a hotel suite, therefore have free use of the high speed Internet services here, but my AOL 9.0 has never been a problem while using the LW software.

10. The web page says my test worked!

11. I am not sharing the computer with any other connections

12. I've had LW for about 2-years and have never had this type of problem.

13. Yes, there is a brick wall there on the interface, but this has never been a problem in the past, even here at the hotel suite. The problem only started when the newer version was installed.

14. Does not apply to me I don't believe.

15. I have about (5) different types of security programs including spyware applications on my machine, however none of them have ever affected the performance while using the LW software.

Question RE: Where Are My Search Results?

Unfortunately I am not using Vista. My OS is Windows XP Professional. Are you sure that this fix will work with my computer? Anyway, the link was surely appreciated...thanks!
