![]() 1. OS version? Vista, this is my personal laptop, so I should have administrative privleges 2. What firewalls you have? McAfee 3. How much ram? Not sure? 4. Hard Disk space available? Not sure? 5. Connection type? Bellsouth Broadband through linksys router 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Westell Modem 7. Where are you trying to connect from Home 8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? I updated both LImeWire and Java this morning, so I should have the most current version 9. Who is your ISP provider AT&T Bellsouth 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? It says "Your test worked!" and nothing else happens. 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. NOT SURE. I have two laptops connected to the same wireless router. 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. I have ran LW for over a year and this is the first time I have had problems. I just logged on and now I can not get it to start a connection. 13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes, but I have always had that. I have gone to the antivirus system and set all the exceptions, taken them off and reset them. I need help, I am not real computer literate, but know enough to find my way around with a little guidance. This is the first time I have had to use this forum to try and find an answer. Nothing has changed with my ISP or router it just up and stopped working. I have followed all of the self help that I could read about and it still is not working. Any suggestions? |
