| The preferences folder isn't named "preferences"...it's named LimeWire. Check out this thread below...there's info about finding & deleting the folder. Also other fixes to try for connection problems. If nothing there helps, post back with your system details (there's a link within the thread which explains which details we need). | I actually found the preferences...they are in Documents and Settings/.limewire. I deleted the whole .limewire folder per another member's suggestion, and that solved the problem, at least for version 4.16. I afraid to even try to update to the new version. No program should be this difficult to navigate, to be honest, but it's working now. Thanks! |

It's not always the same answer for everyone because everyone's system & devices are different. So many variations in set up where one of those areas has started to cause an issue with connection. ![]() But definitely for the new version of LW, it seems you are best to delete the old preferences folder as a first step to solving any new problem. | For now, stick with the older version. ![]() Unfortunately, despite having many more staff than they used to have, they still haven't updated the history page of changes to the program this year Lime Wire » Features History They are well behind lol |

| I don't think they're updating that one any more. It looks better over here (but still not completely up to date):Changelog - LimeWire |
