After you deleted the prefs folder, did you have to go through the LW setup wizard all over again?

Did you try all of the fixes in that thread? If you did, go & find the gnutella.net file...hover your mouse over the file...how big is it?

Yeah they're in the other thread I started...do you just want to continue the convo there?

And I think I'm a little confused. Am I supposed to open LimeWire, then delete the Limewire folder that's in ApplicationData?

I'll delete your other thread & keep everything here. LW MUST be completely closed (check in Task Manager & if there's a LW process still running - end the process) before you delete the prefs folder...otherwise it won't work.

Here's my specs:

1. OS version: XP
2. What firewalls you have: ZoneAlarm. I don't turn the Windows Firewall on as I've read that running two firewalls is bad.
3. RAM: 1 gig
4. Hard Disk space available: 79% free
5. Connection type: Broadband
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers: LinkSys Wireless-G 2.4 Ghz broadband router
7. Where are you trying to connect from: House
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have: LW, 4.18.3; Java, 1.6.0
9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider): Sprint
10. Do this simple test for us. What happens when you go there: Test worked
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up: Two computers run through the wireless router. Not sure what other details I should provide
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user: Experienced in that I'm experiencing a lot of frustration
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface?: Yes
14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled?: Not sure how to check that
15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)?: ZoneAlarm and AVG Anti-Virus
16. What country are you living in: US

And yes, the setup wizard came up after I deleted the folder and tried to run the program again.

I also got into my router settings and opened a port and changed that particular setting in Limewire. Still nothing.

That's good...means that the folder was deleted properly. Did you also look for a prefs folder in the old location of C:\Documents and Settings\your username\.limewire??

You're using an older version of Java...did you try updating to the latest version & rolling back to the older version mentioned in the help thread? Remember to remove all other Java versions before updating or rolling back.

What's the model of your Linksys?

Do you mean that you set up port forwarding? Did you use instructions from portforward.com ?
Did you set up a static IP address before port forwarding?

Just in case - check your port forwarding setup. Go here, find your model of router, choose LW from the list of programs. You'll get step by step instructions for port forwarding & a link to static IP setup: PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall

Funny story, my keyboard died last night. So I can't do anything until I get a new one. I followed the instructions word for word from PortForward when I originally did it. Also, the version of LimeWire that I had is the one I downloaded from the website. I didn't look for the .limewire folder, but I will when I can get back into my computer.
