Default Connection Problem with 4.18.2

Since getting this new version, a firewall is blocking me. I looked at all the threads here and tried to follow the advice but still nothing changes.

I have McAfee, I gave LimeWire full access and also I created a port for Gnutella at the permission section for ports but still nothing changes. I did put the number that you get when you go to tools>advance>firewall-listening port to McAfee's section of giving a port a permission.

Also I did disable the windows firewall, after doing all this but still there is a firewall. I don't know what else to do.

Before every thing was the same and no firewall blocked LW, since this new update I don't know the firewall blocks it.

Is there a problem at the port section for Gnutella even after giving full permission to LimeWire or is there a step that I have missed or done wrong?

In Limewire Links (below) click on (If LW will not connect) and go through these fixes -- if still no good click on (system details) fill in and post back here

Thank you for your help and fortunately I found out what it was. It had nothing to do with firewall, the older version needed to be deleted in the folder (.limewire).

I'm sure this is the the problem that the majority faces and even though everyone might think is the firewall, deleting the folder should be the first step for everyone who has the same problem.

PS: Close this thread!

Hi Niku -- well done -- version 4.18 of LW has been causing problems with everyone -- deleting the preference (limewire) folder has fixed this for a lot of people (like yourself) but not all -- this is because of all the different operating systems, software @ hardware that people are using on their computers.
