It's my guess that your problem with the brick wall is your 2wire router. Some routers do not have good UPnP support. UPnP is where programs such as LW send requests to your router to open a port for listening during that session. Port forwarding the 2wire would be the answer. However, Else it is the wireless service. Your ISP's routers may have various ports closed. I've read of similar problems with wireless ISP services.

Windows Vista
Limewire 4.18.8
Cable
No error message.
All firewalls are off, redownloaded limewire, tried frostwire, deleted 'gnutella.net', but nothing is working. The little firewall is still there and no connection is being made. When on frostwire, error message 'no connection found' came up. Help!

Hi lclinton,
After several searches on Telus and the Wlan Gigaset Routers that they offer, I find that ALL of their Routers are Firewalled.
Try Portforwarding the Router but the Very Important First Step would be to set up a Static IP. See Link >>>Setting up Static ip for Windows XP

Next Step would be to Portforward the Gigaset Router. See Link Below
Port forwarding the Siemens Gigaset SE567
Hope this Helps.

You could also try checking which ultrapeers you're connected to & possibly changing those. Check out this thread: Problems with the search
You can remove any ultrapeers that you're connected to at any time (connecting to different ultrapeers can make a difference in the results that you see), by clicking on the Connections tab & then right clicking on a host > remove. A new one will take it's place.

And if that's no help, delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location).
Fixes for LimeWire
This will change all of your settings within LW's options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things to the way you like them.
