1 Green Bar - Help anyone? (info provided) - Problem solved.
 

It seems that I cannot connect completely...only one green bar shows up.


1. OS version? Windows Vista - Admin Account

2. What firewalls you have? McAfee (on) Windows Defender (off)

3. How much ram? 2038 MB

4. Hard Disk space available? 60.4 GB

5. Connection type? Wireless modem

6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? modem: at&t 2 wire gateway 2701hg-b. (no router)

7. Where are you trying to connect from? Home

8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? Limewire 4.18.6 and Java 1.6.0_07

9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? at&t

10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? It said Your test worked!!

11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. Yes, the other computer is the same exact one.

12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. i've used it before on the same computer, same isp, but we just moved and hasn't worked since.

13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes _yy

14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? I have no idea....

15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Like I said, Mcafee and windows defender...

16. What country are you living in? USA

17. Has anything in your setup changed recently? Have you updated your version of LW or Java? Moved, updated LW and Java

NEVERMIND! I deleted the preferences folder and I have all green bars!

thanks for the help..last night the bars where all green..its a mystery..my provider (after i called) told me they do not block P2P file sharing..the fault is with LW..

how did you delete the preferences folder? i cant' find it anywhere?

i am having the same issues. 1 bar, showing a brickwall, the test to the link worked as well.

can somebody please help?

7. Where are you trying to connect from School
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? LW:4.18.8 Java:1.5.0_13
9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? unsure

17. Has anything in your setup changed recently? Other than coming back to school, no. It worked last year, and at home, but now it does not. I also have 1 green bar. I have tried deleting the preferances folder, but that did not work

A lot of schools block file sharing programs like limewire. Ask around school if anyone else can connect. You may be out of luck.

In the future, you'd be better off starting a new thread instead of piggybacking on someone else's.
