 It could be that antispyware you said you can't get rid of, it may be detecting limewire as a threat and therefore not letting it start up... Did you try uninstalling it ??

| That sounds similar to what my brother got on his work laptop, he had to get the tech to restore the whole thing .....I also helped out a friend with the same thing I ended up getting rid of it with Spybot Search and Destroy none of the others could get it, they detected it but couldn't eradicate it.... They picked this nasty up just simply surfing the net, suddenly a scan starts running and if you click on anything within the window your stuck with it....
