furthermore i have to change my date and time every day(well these past few days anyway.)
Please help me,I know there's something pretty seriously wrong with this PC and i really can't afford right now to send it off to my regular PC wizard.
Make sure XP firewall is turned off. Norton & XP firewalls clash with each other causing strange problems & also results in less security, not more. o to the control panel, double click on Windows Firewall, check the disable box.

Is that a 'Dial up' modem? (ie: max ability of 56 kbps) Dial up is never easy & connecting can be slow. Oh hold on ... you are on a broadband plan right?

BT from memory have security settings. Double-check them.

Might be related to your connection problems too.

Try each of the suggestions here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...t-connect.html as sometimes one or a combination of these fixes problems with connections.
