![]() 1. First thing you do before you begin the port forward process is set up a Static ip. How to set up a static IP address on a Vista (click on link). If you have two computers then each computer will need to have a separate different ip address & 'if' port forwarding both, each will need a different port forwarded. A separate port forward rule for each computer! ![]() Domain name is usually that of your ISP. Check with your ISP which exact name you should use. This is usually optional to add in. * Edit: oops it's not a name, I was confused with search domain when you mentioned domain name. It's a number. And yes it's best to choose the one your local ISP uses. No number here might make it difficult for your internet to connect or make it unreliable/slow at times. 2. Instructions for version 2 of your router Port Forwarding for the Actiontec MI-424-WRv2 Which port to use? Whilst port 6346 is the default gnutella port. Any port between 49152 - 65535 can be used. Make sure the connection & listening ports are the same & same as the port number you put into the router's port forward rule. Also use both TCP & UDP protocol combined, else do a separate rule for each which is even better. Remember the ports used for each computer must be different. For ip addresses, say for example your router address is 192.168.1.1, then each computer might have a static address of 192.168.1.3, 192.168.1.4, etc. lol looks like Birdy did come back. ![]() Last edited by Lord of the Rings; February 4th, 2009 at 01:41 AM. |
