Default Connecting problem

Hi,
I connected a router to my computer yesterday and now LW isnt working.
Ive been into my router seetings and limewire is excluded from my firewall. I even tried turning the firewall off.
LW says im connected, but when I try and search a message comes up and says limrewire is currently connecting to the network.
In the connections says all the hosts say connecting.
Can anyone help?
Thank you.

Not an installation problem!
Moved to Connection Problems.

What's the brand & model number of your router?

How many green/blue connection bars do you see?

Its a D-Link DIR-300 Wireless G router.
Ive tried a few things in the connection problem threads and its searching a little now.
In the connections tab there are 3 hosts that say outgoing.

If you're using basic LW then you'll connect to 3 ultrapeers (hosts that you see in the Connections window).

How many green connection bars do you see at the bottom of LW?

Do you see the firewall icon (brick wall in front of the blue earth)?

How do you have your router set up - using UPnP, port forwarded or don't know?

Yes the fiewall is there.
And not sure how i have the router set up sorry.
It seems to be searching a little better now but is finding a lot of junk.
A lot of efreeclub stuff, which I think I remember reading something about on here earlier.

The efreeclub stuff is just spam. Check out this thread for advice: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/open-d...tml#post335961

Do you want to get rid of the firewall icon? If you're firewalled, chances are that others won't be able to download much (if anything) from you. So you wouldn't be sharing.

If your router has UPnP enabled by default (the router's manual should tell you) then in LW go tools > options > advanced > firewall. Tick 'Use UPnP' > Apply > ok.

If that doesn't get rid of the icon, post back & we can give you instructions for port forwarding
