I am getting this error message. is this the same as other people who post that say they cannot connect? I have one green step and 4 red steps on the far left bottom screen and I do have a world with a brick wall in front of it.

limeWire is currently connecting to the network. Your search may not ruturn many results until you are fully connected to the network.

It has been like this for awhile so last night I finally did the software upgrade and made sure I closed down all limewire that was running and then I left it up and searching all night. No results found. Not computor savy, please dont yell at me, sorry if This is stupid

update. I figured out how to view my firewall. actually pretty proud of myself for a 43 year old computer idiot! anyway, it says limewaire has FULL access! so now what? any ideas?

If LW Will Not Connect

If you're using LW 5 now, first thing to try is deleting the gnutella.net file. Otherwise, you can see whether replacing the file helps. And if that doesn't help, delete LW's preferences folder. If none of those help, go through the other fixes.

And if you're still stuck, please let us know if you had trouble with any of the fixes & post back with your system details (see for thread for more info about the details that we need)

Does anyone know if the reason I cant connect to limewire is because of Comast, I think I heard something about them and bit torrent?

AFAIK comcast aren't actively blocking p2p, it was more an issue with them throttling uploads (so users couldn't share files with other people).
Comcast not fined, but must stop blocking P2P traffic

Please post your system details & then we can see whether LW's default port is being blocked
